Landscape Lighting Techniques - Moonlighting

Published March 12th, 2015 by Devteam

Now that spring is just around the corner, the weather is improving and soon the outdoors will be where everyone wants to spend the evenings. Landscape lighting in backyards and patio areas are a great way to extend those hours, especially when entertaining.

One of the best techniques for lighting seating and entertaining areas is creating a moon lighting effect with tree lights. A good designer will know the best location and way to position lights to create dramatic effects with shadows and beam angles. It takes a skilled eye to find places that will conceal the light while adding a subtle and warm feel to lounging areas.

Now with super efficient LED's lightbulb changes are virtually eliminated, making maintenance a non issue for years at a time.

Moonlighting is a great way to set the ambiance when entertaining and now dimmable and color changing LEDs will allow you to manipulate the effect to create different moods at different times.

Lighting from above allows you to cover broader areas but a good designer knows how to create even spaces of light and dark that add depth to your yard as well. It is a perfect way to zero in on that gorgeous landscaping feature that is a center point in your yard.

Moon lighting is also great for relaxing and unwinding on your own. Subtle light on your patio gives you the perfect and serene scene for reading on a warm spring evening. Moon lighting is one of the best ways to accent your best landscaping features and sitting areas.
